The principle of the right to repair movement is giving consumers the freedom to disassemble, diagnose, and fix/refurbish all products that they own. In short, "right to repair" is the ability to fix the products you purchase. However, this right is debated by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers who broadly claim that allowing consumers to exercise this right freely could lead to adverse consequences. Because of the decline in the ease of repairing many electronic goods, a movement has evolved around the idea of right to repair.
